The Robert Greenwood Award of Excellence

This prestigious award was created in memory of the highly-talented radio personality, Robert Greenwood; a character who my brothers and I created in our youth.

Mr. Greenwood's life was dedicated to pursuing excellence in whatever he was called to do.  Many of us can recall one of his well-loved expressions: "Well lads, that was most excellent!", as well as the unforgettable: "Why don't we go over to his house and see if he's there?".  

As a radio personality, he was never awarded for his achievements but hopefully this travesty will be overcome by naming this award in his honor.  Robert Greenwood, you will surely be missed.

This award is given to persons/places/things that are recognized as being truly excellent.  True excellence, for the purpose of this award, is defined as something that has made the world a better place by its very existence.  This we feel applies to Mr. Greenwood and the rest of the awardees on this page.

A freeware game that is taking the world by storm!  Simply excellent.
Kilimanjaro
An excellent mountain that has been around for many decades.  We hope it is around for many more.
Toothpaste
An excellent product that helped shape the civilized world.  Good parents understand it's significance.  Most kids don't.
Alfred Hitchcock's Profile
An excellent profile.  Notice the wonderful sense of shape and pleasingly proportionate features.
Ritz Bits
A snack food that is almost perfect.  All other snack foods pale in comparison to it's excellence.  Do not eat a whole box at once.  Your tummy will feel sick.
Easter Island
An excellent island cluttered with excellent heads.  It has spawned many excellent jokes and commercials.  Excellent.
Pixar
Who dares to say that Pixar is not excellent?  If you do, please stand up and get off the planet.  You are wasting our air.
Ernie Coombs (aka Mr Dressup)
An excellent children's show host.  Mr. Dressup is a megalitholical example of true excellence for the younger set.
Godzilla
A 500 foot green monster with radioactive breath who likes to travel to big cities to do more than a little shopping.  Excellent.
Grass
Excellent for making green lawns.

Norman Wisdom
When Norman trips over his shoes, or says "Mr. Grimsdale!", he reminds us all that comedy doesn't have to be witty, original, or even funny to be excellent.  (Simon H.)
The Number 7
The number 7 is a "prime" number.  Without this excellent number, we would not have been able to put 7 men on the moon, and a jumbo jet would be known only as a "forty".  In addition, the number 7 is easy to write.  (David S.)
